Pentax Q is the World’s Smallest and Lightest Interchangeable Lens Camera Posted: 24 Jun 2011 09:10 AM PDT Pentax introduces its Q, the world’s smallest and lightest interchangeable lens camera that is pocketable and even fits in your palm. The camera uses the newly designed PENTAX Q-mount lens system for convenient interchangeability with a variety of specialty Q lenses including prime, zoom, fish-eye and more. The Pentax Q is equipped with a 12.4 Megapixel backlit 1/2.3-inch CMOS image sensor, capable of producing 12 bit DNG RAW and JPG images. With such as small size, the Q manged to offer a 3-inch LCD display with HVGA resolution, a Customizable Quick Dial and built-in pop-up flash. The camera features ISO 125-6400, sensor-shift shake reduction, traditional DSLR shooting modes such as Program, Aperture/Shutter Priority, and Metered Manual exposure control, Bokeh Control Filter and Smart Effects Mode. Pentax Q is able to record 1080 Full HD camera at 30fps and offers In-camera HDR capture mode that shoots 3 images of varying exposures, blending them to bring out the details in even the darkest shadows and brightest highlights of extreme contrast shots. It includes the DRII (Dust Removal II) mechanism to help reduce annoying dust spots from spoiling captured images Though look like a toy camera, the mirrorless Pentax Q camera has a lightweight, scratch resistant magnesium alloy body, making it really durable. It supports SD/SDHC and SDXC memory cards and provides HDMI output. The Q will be available in white or black body models and shipped in a Standard Prime lens (available in silver) kit. Like D-Link’s MainStage, the ScreenCast wireless transfers content from any WiDi-enabled laptop to HDTV. The adapter supports Full HD 1080p resolution and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround sound and provides HDMI and RCA composite outputs. The Belkin ScreenCast supports dual-band wireless (2.4- and 5GHz) for the perfect picture and sound. Intel’s WiDi technology also enables a second display for Intel Wireless Display-ready computers, so you can work or surf the Internet on your laptop and your TV at the same time.
