Sony's 13" ultraslim VAIO Z laptop has an external GPU that supplies great graphics processing on demand. If you liked gaming laptops that ran on AMD ATI Radeon or NVIDIA GeForce graphics, then you are going to love this biggie from Sony.

This is a legendary innovation because you can upgrade you graphics in a moment and tone it down if you don't want to put excessive pressure on the battery.

Sony VAIO Z Key Features

  • "Ultramobile" notebook with a beautiful 13.1-inch screen that has a display resolution of 1600 x 900.
  • Quite lightweight and weighs only 1.2 KGs.
  • Powered by a 2.7GHz Intel Core i7 processor, possibly the second the generation of core processors from Intel, more commonly known as Sandy Bridge.
  • 256GB Solid State Drive from storage and 8GB RAM to support multiple application simultaneously.
  • Sheet battery, similar to that in Sony VAIO S that gives VAIO Z a full 7 hours of battery life, quite unbelievable for a Gaming Laptop.

Some other Features

  • Intel’s HD Graphics 3000 Onboard
  • Power Media Dock with AMD Radeon 6650M GPU and 1GB of dedicated memory connected to the system via “the architecture codenamed Light Peak”, Sony calls it Thunderbolt (external GPU)
  • The dock sports one USB 3.0 plus additional USB
  • VGA and HDMI port and a slot for either a DVD or Blu-ray drive

Now you can customize your VAIO Z laptop online on Sony UK site. The basic model of Sony VAIO Z ultimate gaming laptop (Core i5 CPU, 4GB of RAM and no PMD) starts from £1,434 ($2,294), the dock costs an additional £400 ($640) option with no optical drive included, while the 1080p display upgrade costs a mere 40 bucks.

What do you think about this ultraslim gaming laptop from Sony? It is a little costly and would be available by the end of July, is it worth waiting for and spending money? Leave a comment down below with your reply. Thanks.
