Powered by SandForce’s SF-2281 processor, the new Pyro line features TRIM command support, DuraClass and DuraWrite for optimized performance and durability. It also includes RAISE (Redundant Array of Independent Silicon Elements) technology, and built-in ECC protection for longest data retention and drive life. The Patriot Memory Pyro is based on MLC NAND flash. The 60GB model offers up to 520MB/s read and 490MB/s write speeds with 80,000 (4K aligned) Max Random Write IOPS, while the 120GB and 240GB provide 550MB/s read and 515MB/s write speeds and 85,000 (4K aligned) Max Random Write IOPS performance. | Sonos PLAY:3 Compact Wireless HiFi Posted: 20 Jul 2011 11:21 PM PDT Sonos announced its new PLAY:3, a compact all-in-one wireless streaming media HiFi system designed to “stream all the music on the earth wirelessly in any room.” The speaker packs three Class-D digital amplifiers and three drivers – one tweeter and two 3″ mid-range to provide clear wall-to-wall sound. There is also one passive, rear-firing bass radiator for rich sound. The PLAY:3 is internet-connected offering access to over 100,000 internet ratio station, shows and podcasts online. It can play your entire music library stored on any computer or Network Attached storage (NAS), such as an Apple Time Capsule. The cabinet also works with popular music streaming services to provide access to millions of songs and stations from AUPEO, iheartradio, Last.fm, MOG, Napster, Pandora, Rdio, Rhapsody, SiriusXM Internet Radio, Spotify, Stitcher SmartRadio, TuneIn, Wolfgang’s Vault, and more. The Sonos PLAY:3 is easy to expand, bringing wireless music to all your rooms; and is compatible with all other Sonos products. One Sonos player or SONOS BRIDGE (sold separately) must be connected to your router, then all other Sonos players will work wirelessly. Users may also want to have stereo pairing by place two PLAY:3s in the same room and enjoy even bigger sound with each playing a dedicated Left or Right channel. The wireless HiFi supports wireless control using free Sonos Controller Apps for Android, iPhone and iPad. There is also free Sonos Controller for Mac and PC. The Sonos PLAY:3 is available for $299. AMEX Digital introduces a new HD media player running Android OS, the MP-G7 with a 500GB hard drive pre-installed. The player is powered by a dual-core ARM Cortex processor with Full HD accelerator processing. It supports Full HD 1080p video playback and offers HDMI 1.3a output.
Running Android OS, the AMEX Digital MP-G7 lets you browse the web, play games easily and allows you to expand features and functions by installing apps. The player supports most media formats including H.264, RMVB, MPEG1/2/4, DivX, MKV, MP3, AAC, OGG, AC3. Other than HDMI, the MP-G7 also offers component output, TOSLINK S/P DIF optical digital audio out, and RCA audio output. Integrated digital TV tuner is available as an option. The new wireless mouse features a touch strip with both vertical and horizontal navigation allowing users to swipe the mouse in any direction. The touch scroll wheel also allows for three speeds of scrolling: slow speed for precise movements, medium speed to advance a page or two, or hyperfast speed to flick quickly through a long document. Thanks to advanced haptic technology, users can feel and hear how quickly they are scrolling easily.
The Explorer Touch uses the BlueTrack technology which combines the power of optical with the precision of laser for remarkable tracking on virtually any surface.
